Funny idea but personally I like the fact that each major release can be recognized by it’s login background – it gives it some kind of “identity”

Can’t that be represent by a the Tag?

For eg:

  • Summer = v1
  • Mountains = v2
  • Winter = v3
  • etc…

… would work, too :slight_smile:

Really nice images, but some random thoughts on this topic:

  • The backend is for editors, not developers.
  • Editors do not care about Neos identity.
  • Editors do not care about Neos versions.
  • Editors who work with many Neos websites prefer differents background images.
  • Clients like their own images.

@cgbl you can still add your own images. I’m usually doing this with my own Neos websites so you can always replace the default image.
Even if they don’t care - isn’t that part of the identity of a brand to give it a consistent look?

I disagree, it’s for all Neos users. And developers like nice images, too :wink:

That’s probably true mostly. But don’t assume Editor = stupid/indifferent. Most of us probably have multiple personas from time to time. Developer, integrator, editor, …

And as David wrote, you’re always free to choose a custom background image.

Another aspect: We should not link to images from other domains to be loaded but include the BG image in the distribution (That doesn’t imply that we couldn’t randomly iterate through a collection though)
