I tagged bug fix releases for Neos on Monday. They fix bugs and inconveniences, as is to be expected.

7.3 and up contain:

8.1 contains:

Furthermore we had an issue that prohibited Neos 8.1 to be installed using the neos/neos-base-distribution:

Your requirements could not be resolved to an installable set of packages.

  Problem 1
    - Root composer.json requires neos/neos-ui 8.1.x-dev -> satisfiable by neos/neos-ui[8.1.x-dev].
    - neos/neos-ui 8.1.x-dev requires neos/neos-ui-compiled 8.1.x-dev -> found neos/neos-ui-compiled[8.1.x-dev] but it does not match your minimum-stability.

That has been fixed too.
