Hi dear Neosianer,
In April i started working on major parts of the Neos 9 Content Repository to stabilise it further.
In May i have requested a funding for the time invested until that point as well as a budget of 30 hours for finalisation.
The budget requested for finalisation turned out a little short sighted.
My work from mid May to start of July
After my last funding request I ended up spending more than 100 hours.
- Finalise initial content stream layer introduction (2h)
- Finalise and test UTC date handling in Neos and the Eventstore (5h)
- Event migration to adjust events
recordedAttime stamp to UTC timezone base on plausible possibleinitiatingTimestampreference (+ Introduction of CRUpgrade’s and Behat tests for event migrations) (7.5h) - Finalise and release Neos Event-store 2.0 and adapter 3.0 (8.5h)
- Parallel tests for workspace creation, Parallel workspace writing, Base workspace change, and their race conditions and content repository locking (7h)
- Automatically generated performant hierarchy relation subqueries based on Sebastian’s concept/prototype. (15h)
- Speed up hierarchy relation queries for MySQL (findReferences optimisations) (4h)
- Neos 9.2 Database schema upgrade and replay CLI command (6h)
- Duplicate
SubtreeWasUntaggedbug (5h) - Testing, benchmarking and tuning replay performance and query performance of the hierarchy layers (Neos.io, starship, …) (10+h)
- Neos 9.1 compatibility graph projection to possibly smooth out upgrade (5h)
- Neos.io upgrade to Neos 9.2.0-beta1 and database migration and local testing and stage testing and production deployment (7+h)
- Event migration to repair race conditioned’ base workspace changes + Behat tests (7h)
Total = 89h
Substracting already requested funding from May: 30h
Remaining = 59h
More unfunded things …
- Finalising the code and testing for all of the above (12+h)
- PR juggling
- Releasing
- Watching CI’s work
- Various reviews and discussions
- Developer meetings
- Sprints (Karlsruhe)
- Experimenting with new things like an advanced SQL query building for Neos?
The Results
The change set is ready for testing via the Neos 9.2 Beta-1 Release
And the changes possible for back-port are available via the Latest Patch Release
Further our own Neos.io runs already on the beta and i have published a post with it
Funding
I like to apply for funding of the 59 hours of work and for 8 hours of additional polishing for the 9.2 release.
… I have already a report for another race condition in legacy events which needs to be resolved similarly to “Event migration to repair race conditioned’ base workspace changes”
I would like to apply for funding of 6.700 € - covering 67 hours
- Yes
- No
